What do you see when looking at this picture?
What I see is a daughter, who is having fun with her father (the photographer.) While he suspects he may be taking too many pictures, I would posit he is doing just fine. This is not the look of irritation, or an eye roll. It is a connection. (An odd humorous connection…and a connection.)
These little unspoken items between parents and children are fabulous. It is a connection…a memory.
With my kids, I have a little thing where I squeeze their hand (or nudge them) three times…and then they do four back. It stands for “I love you,” and then “I love you, too.” I have nicknames for them, too.
What little unspoken things do you share with your children?
